  1. Embracing Self Love and Understanding Yourself

Defined as a regard for one’s own well-being and happiness, practicing self love has been a cornerstone in understanding and recognizing the type of person I am and valuing my own self worth. I have always been an individual who wants to please everyone, to attend to their needs and that has allowed me to set other people’s priorities above my very own. In a way, when I focus on other’s people needs, I become too “busy” to address my own problems and issues. This has made me feel dependent on others for validation and happiness. Wrestling with becoming more self aware and less hypercritical with myself has helped boost my self esteem and confidence with the things that I do. I want to be the curator for my own happiness and not depend on others to make myself feel content and happy.

2. Develop Systems Not Just Goals

Defining goals in your 20s is important because it sets the direction you want to move towards, however a goal with no system in place to achieve your goals is pointless. So when you set goals such as 100K in savings, finding a romantic partner, or building a business, you need to define the exact steps/systems that will get you there.
